Kinetics Model KSCU Cable Restraint Kit is the only all-in-one cable kit for seismic restraint of piping, ductwork, cable trays and suspended equipment. Featuring the Gripple Quick Fit wire rope clip, the KSCU kit is available in 2mm (1/16"), 3mm (1/8"), 5mm (3/16") and 6mm (1/4") cable diameters. Each kit includes all hardware required for connections to the suspended equipment. The optional attachment kit includes bolting hardware and concrete anchors. You have everything you need in each kit. Installation time is a fraction of what it takes for conventional systems.
Kit Includes two (2) cable assemblies to seismically restrain piping, ductwork, and equipment. Each assembly includes:
- One (1) cable with a factory-swaged loop on one end, the other end is fused
- One (1) hex head bolt with a nut and lock washer to attach KSCA brackets to hanger rod
- One (1) KSCA cable attachment bracket
- Two (2) KSUA Loop Quick cable attachment brackets
- One (1) Gripple Quick Fit wire rope clip
- One (1) Thimble for field assembly (as required**)

- Notes:
- Cable forces are maximum and are for bolting or welding the KSUA bracket to steel. Capacities will be reduced when anchoring to concrete.
- KSCU-2 and -3 use the KSUA-1 compatible with 1/4" and 3/8" bolts
- KSCU-4 and -5 use the KSUA-2 compatible with 3/8" and 1/2" bolts
*Angle is determined from the point of attachment to the structure.
**The use of the thimble is optional depending on how the field-assembled end is used. Thimbles are to be used for the following conditions: 1) if SMACNA compatibility is called for, 2) if there is significant dynamic motion expected in restrained equipment, or 3) if there is contact between cable and sharp edge of bracket (hole is ok). A thimble is not required for the factory-swaged end.
