Vadim Akishin earned his Civil/Hydraulic Engineering degree at Moscow Civil University (Russia). Before immigrating to Canada, his worked centered on structural and hydraulic issues relating to foundations and retaining walls. Since joining Kinetics in 1998, Vadim has moved up to managing the Engineering Department at Vibron Division specializing in structural, acoustic, thermal, and hydraulic design.
Dr. Scott Campbell received most of his seismic training at University of California (Berkeley). His experience was further broadened as an Assistant Professor at the American University in Armenia. Past projects have included Bomb Blast Analysis for JAYCOR and later for Applied Research Associates. His quest for involvement with "real world" projects and his unique Civil/Structural background led him to Kinetics where he has become extensively involved in whole building isolation as well as seismic and bomb blast protection.
Dr. Ernest W.F. CHENG, BEng, PhD, MHKIOA, obtained his BEng in Environmental Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and completed his PhD degree in Noise Pollution Control at the same University in 2002. Specializing research in the area of material properties and applications, he subsequently was appointed as an engineer by Gammon Construction Ltd. He obtained extensive hands-on experience in noise barrier design and material selection. Joining Kinetics in 2007, his expertise has been further developed in the aspect of room acoustic design.
Dr. George Feng is a graduate of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (China) specializing in the dynamics of fluid flow. He joined Kinetics in 2000 bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and abilities that have made him a key player developing our highly specialized, custom-designed industrial silencers. His experience and knowledge are critical when working with high-temperature, high-flow stack silencers, jet engine test cells, and similar applications.
Margareta Ivanovic-Dubljevic, a graduate of the University of Belgrade, has been with Kinetics since 1996, moving up to the Chief Engineer's role before shifting her focus to software development. In her current capacity, "Maja" develops and maintains air distribution system modeling software (acoustics) for outside users as well as manufacturing, pricing, and order release software, enabling rapid, efficient response to market needs.
Paul Meisel spent 18 years designing Mining Equipment ranging from trucks and locomotives to fans and continuous miners. Although not readily obvious, noise and vibrations significantly affected the design of this equipment. With Kinetics for 13 years and holding several patents, he brings different insights into the building noise/vibration control arena. Paul is a frequent and well-respected speaker at both the local and national level.
David Meredith has been with Kinetics his entire working career. Since specializing in acoustics and earning a Master's Degree with honors, Dave has 30 years of experience in the industry addressing complex sound and vibration issues. Currently Export Market Manager, Dave is the primary contact for overseas applications. Given his vast experience, he travels and speaks on a wide range of sound and vibration topics of interest throughout the world.
Thomas Paige received his Master's Degree in Acoustics and Thermodynamics at the University of Manitoba in 1971. Over his 17 years with Kinetics, "Tom" has specialized in the analysis of field problems, product application and training. He is extremely knowledgeable and well-respected in the acoustics field. Tom represents Kinetics nationally on ASHRAE's TC 2.6 (Sound and Vibration) committee, on AMCA's Acoustic Attenuation Division and ASTM's E33 - Environmental Acoustics Committee as well as several other organizations.
Richard Sherren, Chief Mechanical Engineer at Kinetics, graduated Magna Cum Laude and went on to obtain his Master's Degree at West Virginia University. "Dick" came to Kinetics from the heavy equipment design industry where he spent time with JOY, OB Transit, Jeffrey Mining Machinery, and Caterpillar. At Kinetics, Dick specializes in new product development and overall system analysis. He also represents Kinetics with the ASHRAE and AIA organizations.
Lumi Ursulescu joined Kinetics in 2000 and has moved from a Mechanical Designer up to the Engineering Design Department Manager. While her primary focus is on rigid walled acoustic chambers and production silencers, she is also actively involved in vibration control applications in the Canadian marketplace. Lumi graduated from the University of Bucharest prior to immigrating to Canada.
Bryan Boggs graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BSMET degree in 1994. With Kinetics since 1994, Bryan shifted from an initial role in sales support to head up the Engineering Standards and Product Maintenance Group. Besides standards and existing product responsibilities, Bryan also addresses the wide range of special and job specific customization that passes through the engineering department.
Darren Breece earned a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Technology before working his way up to Test Lab Manager for Genie (garage door openers). In 1996 he joined Kinetics and is currently the HVAC & OEM Engineering Manager. In this capacity, he oversees all HVAC application engineering, performs seismic calculations, works to resolve field installation and in-house manufacturing issues, and supports new product development.
