Sereno Acoustical Wood Panel System

Sereno Acoustical Wood Panel System

Design sound absorptive surfaces with beautiful wood panels manufactured to achieve exceptional Noise Reduction Coefficient ratings up to NRC 1.00 per ASTM C423.

Sereno is a perforated wood panel which allows the designer to select from a variety of natural hardwood finishes that are acoustically transparent. The open area created by the Sereno panel’s standard perforation pattern is higher than many wood acoustical panels producing impressive sound absorption ratings. Where noise and reverberation reduction are important elements of the design, and the desired finish is wood, Sereno is an excellent choice. The panels are supplied with Z-clips for easy mounting over acoustical insulation material. The wood veneer face can be specified from a wide range of hardwoods including cherry, maple, oak, birch, and poplar.

Sereno is an acoustical wood panel system used where natural wood surfaces on walls or ceilings, and exceptional sound control are needed. Panels are custom sized up to 47-7/8" (1216 mm) x 95-3/4" (2432 mm). In order to maintain uniform hole spacing where panels are butted together, the sizing of panels will be in increments of 5/8" (16 mm). Panels can be supplied with Z-clips for easy mounting or they can be nailed or glued to wood furring strips or blocking. The panel edge detail is designed to create a fine reveal wherever panels adjoin.

Panels are made with a 3/4" thick MDF core with a laminated hardwood veneer facing. Each panel is backed with an acoustically transparent black fabric to visually cover the sound batting, furring, and attachment hardware which make up the substrate behind each panel. Sereno panels have been acoustically tested for furring systems of 1" (25 mm) and 2" (50 mm) thickness. The acoustical core material used in the test was 3 pcf fiberglass board of the same thickness.

Note: When the Class A Fire Rating is specified we recommend that “no added urea formaldehyde” be excluded from this wood product’s specification. This combination has been found to cause minor discoloration with some wood veneers and will void the product warranty.
